To row with the MRRA, you must be a member of the Club. The only exception to this rule is for certain community access programs such as the popular Learn-To-Row programs which affords the general public opportunities to learn the basics of sculling and sweep rowing without a commitment to an MRRA membership. Prior rowing experience is expected for all programs below, except where noted. If you are looking to Learn To Row, please visit that web page for programs designed for those without any prior experience. Student Memberships: Restrictions apply: Must be full-time student; Rowing season is restricted to June 1 through August 31; and Student Members may not row Class A boats; Hours for sculling are restricted.

Open sweep is a group of mostly young men and women who are post-collegiate rowers still interested in training and racing at a high level.

MRRA is excited to offer for 2011 a sweep program targeted at post-collegiate rowers and coxswains interested in training and racing on a team-based, competitive squad. Mens and Womens boats are both available.

Practices

Practices will be held three times a week, with one session coached. Practices will most likely be 6-8pm Tues/Thurs, and Saturday mornings. We practice in 8’s, 4’s depending on rower availability

Racing

The club will race in numerous spring, summer, and fall races, but will target Club Nationals, Canadian Henley, and Head of the Charles as our key races. College Rowers are welcome to continue their training over the summer with the Open Sweep team.
