Welcome to the home page for the 25th Annual Festival Regatta brought to you by the members of the Merrimac River Rowing Association.  The MRRA is very proud of this fun day of 6-lane sprint racing on the scenic and historic Merrimac River in Lowell, Massachusetts.  This regatta features about 35 events for the full range of age and boat classes.

  • 25-Jun... The Coaches & Coxswains meeting will be at 7:00am sharp on Sunday morning.
  • 25-Jun... FINAL RACE SCHEDULE (PDF) Event schedule with start times.
  • 25-Jun... LANE ASSIGNMENTS (PDF)  The report says "heat sheet" but we remind you that all races are FINAL ONLY.  Check this report to see your lane assignments.  Bow markers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
  • 25-Jun... PARKING - NOTE OR BE TOWED:  There is FREE REGATTA PARKING across the street from the boathouse in the field. DO NOT park at Dunkin Donuts. DO NOT park in the BREAKDOWN LANE along the boathouse and Parkway. TRAILER PARKING only in the BOATHOUSE PARKING LOT and breakdown lane on the BLVD.  IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF BOATHOUSE is Handicapped Parking, EMERGENCY VEHICLE PARKING/ACCESS ONLY. Boat storage on the grassy areas only. DO NOT block the sidewalk along the parkway, or in front of the boathouse.
  • 25-Jun... REGISTRATION (CHECK-IN): Registration is in the lobby of the Boathouse 6:00AM to 1:00PM - PLEASE access Boathouse from main street door only not the boat bays.  Waivers will be handed in or done on site, hard copy, no electronic waivers.
  • 25-Jun... REST ROOMS:  First floor bathrooms in the boathouse are available for use, enter through main lobby.  Sidewalk entry bathrooms also available for use, downstream front of main entrance There are portable toilets at the bridge end of the parking lot. PLEASE DO NOT use Dunkin Donuts bathrooms!
  • 25-Jun... MISCELLANEOUS BUT IMPORTANT: 
    • Regatta Packet:  Course info, rules, and more - print a copy for yourself here (PDF).
    • Command Central will be located on the elevated platform near the parking are. Any questions please see Ginny or Tim
    • First Aid - EMT's located in boathouse area
    • SAFETY - ALL BOATS must have bowballs and regulation length heel ties.
    • CONCESSIONS will be available along the fence area on the boat bay side of the boat house.
    • T-SHIRT SALES - The Inaugural Summer Sprint T- Shirts will be on sale in the area of the concession stand area.
    • RESULTS will be posted on fence just outside Boathouse Bays. Results will be posted as soon as available and finalized, please be patient.
    •  Awards for first place will be available at the first boat bay table
    •  SUMMER SPRINT SERIES CHAMPIONS- IF YOU WIN at the FESTIVAL in the EXACT SAME EVENT AT THE LAWRENCE REGATTA ON SATURDAY,YOUR ARE AN OFFICIAL SUMMER SPRINT SERIES CHAMPION 2010 Please come to the Awards Table and have a photo op with the Championship Plaque and fill out information for our custom plaque to be mailed to you!
    • Launching - First call 40 mins ahead, please launch 30-20 mins prior to your event. ALL BOATS must have bowballs and regulation length heel ties.
    • HOT-SEATING: If you are hot seating please notify dock staff, everyone needs to be quick on/off dock. Move quickly on the dock, tie in on the water.
  • 15-Jun... A couple of area hotels are offering reduced rate rooms - mention FESTIVAL REGATTA when you book to get your discount.  Visit the Directions & Accommodations page of this web site for more details.
  • 13-Jun... The Regatta Packet is now published on the site.  There will only be a limited number of copies available on race day, so print your own copy if you think it will do your crew some good.  > Download the Regatta Packet (4 page PDF).
  • 06-Jun... The Rules and Classifications edits look final.  Please read them carefully, and if you have any need for clarification, please send an email well ahead of regatta day.  Anything clarifications that need to be legislated on race day will be done as fairly as possible, but we'd rather not have to do it then.
  • 05-Jun... Course Map has been slightly updated.  If it's not obvious yet, all events are 1000m, so that's why the 2K course isn't found on the map.
  • 05-Jun... Vendor information has been updated.  In summary, you can be a vendor at the Festival Regatta for $50.  For web ads and more information, consult the Vendors web page.  Note the red text on that page for specific information that applies to the Festival Regatta this year.
  • 05-Jun... Version 2 of the Event Schedule is posted.  This schedule reflects a few new events and corresponds to the schedule at Regatta Central. Order of events is nearly final.
  • 27-May... Version 1 of the Event Schedule is posted.  This is a preliminary schedule, and while we believe strongly that the order of the events will not change, we cannot guarantee start times just yet.
